it seems to be that. so,now what? do I keep them? they are over2 feet long sometimes. Are they bad? Why just on the leather?

Your corals are fine .. have these on my yellow fuji leather and touches everything. All its doing is reaching into the current and cathing micro organisms. I would not remove it ,not that its my choice but its causing no harm in the tank and it will NOT eat your fish... its a great conversation animal and to watch it eat is also amazing.
