For a 2x4 lid with cutouts for the cords and seaswirls Octoaquatics wants $325 delivered.
I dropped an e-mail and messenger to Clearview yesterday but they havent gotten back. I just have a simple question or two and really dont want to have to do 3 days of back and forth via the net to have it answered.
That’s terrible. Glad I have a temp controller. But I barley trust it more than the heater. It seams we can’t trust anything in this hobby. One of my kessles crapt-out last week Kessle is replacing it but the point is even high end equipment fails. Redundancy is key. I loved your fat head anthias so much I have been looking for one myself ever since I saw them. Really sorry about your lossmnat - Dropped a PM and got in touch. Dropped them the specs and they were on it. Hoping to have the lid by end of July.
And...
Update - a bit of a disaster
Wandered out overnight and the tank got pissed. Specifically a Jaeger 200W heater got pissed. It decided to turn itself on in anger and decided it wasn't going to turn itself off till I got home.
So, I got in 24 hours later and noted that one of the fathead anthias was on bottom. Bummed as heck. Netted him up and as I got near the top I stuck my fingers in to grab the net and thought, 'H*&^ %@(k this tank is hot!
Temp read showed 89.9 F, lord knows for how long.
And there was my Jaeger, red light still on, still cranking away, and hot to the touch underwater, even though set on 79F.
Pulled the heater. Put 2 fans on surface, one fan on sump, dropped in an air-stone, did a quick mix 15g water change keeping it as cool as I could...
And by 10pm we were back down to a blistering 84.
Overnight we dropped to 82. ATM at 80.
Lost the midas blennie and both of the fathead anthias. Bummed out and pissed off a bit.
Both clowns, filefish, chalk bass seem OK, but Tomini tang isn't looking too sharp and Gem tang has his white sides up showing stress for the past 24 hours.
We'll see how it goes.
Aside from the loss of fish (and hoping no more, especially the Gem), things seems to be back on track. Keeping an ich watch atm.
A temp controller is on its way for Monday delivery, wont trust the Jaegers anymore, but I've had years of clear running with them, made me complacent.
So remember kids, wash those hands and monitor those heaters.
