The Journey of my Seahorse Tank

Hey all, I just stumbled on this thread as I am seriously considering setting up a second tank, this time a 75g seahorse tank. I'm in the research and planning stages now so is anyone still out there on this thread with any advice? Or maybe could point me to a different thread I haven't found yet? I'm still doing a lot of looking so maybe I'll stumble on more. Thanks for any advice!

I'm still here. :)

One thing I would recommend doing is to have a chiller. Seahorses need cooler water than what we keep our reef tanks at. The temp should be 74 or below. Some seahorses, like the potbelly (h. abdominalis, need the water much cooler. A chiller will ensure that you can keep the tank temps stable for the seahorses. Also, much thought needs to be taken when choosing the tank inhabitants. Seahorses are slow eaters and relatively slow movers. They need to be kept with peaceful fish that will not out compete them at feeding time or nip at them. They are also scaleless so if you decide to have corals, you will need to be careful in your selections. You don't want the seahorses to get injured from the corals.

Awesome. Good advice. I didn't think of the chiller, will definitely have to look into that. Much appreciated.
