Welcome To NJRC! Take a minute to introduce yourself

Hello NJRC!

I'm a fairly new hobbyist. I have a 125 gal. tank that has been cycled for 8 months now. Its currently FOWLR with 2 clowns, 2 yellow watchman gobies, 2 skunk cleaner shrimps. I also have a green chromis and algae blenny currently in quarantine. I'm about to make the leap into LPS. I'm wondering if there are any other reefers in the Washington, NJ area??

Yes there is. But what Washington area are you from? I know we have members from all three.

Pretty sure there are 6 or 7 Washington Townships in NJ (1 up north may be a borough). Wow. I'm kinda sad I know that. I can blame an old job I guess. Knew more than I cared to about all 566 municipalities in NJ.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm in Washington Borough in Warren County. I'd love some tips for the nearest decent LFS.

I may be one of the closest to you. I'm in Clinton Twp. Not sure what the closest decent LFS is for you. There's one in Flemington, Pets Plus. The stock looks well cared for, but it's a smaller store.

Hi Atll,

I know Warren County is far but reef wise, it feels like I'm on another planet sometimes! Can't seem to find anyone to trade with or learn from. Thanks for the tip about Pets Plus, I'll check them out. I've mostly been going to Something Fishy and Max Reef whenever works takes me into Westchester County. Does anyone know where I can find Tank-bred fish and aqua-cultured corals?

Don't kid yourself, we really are on a whole other planet out here, lol.

For tank bred fish and aquacultured corals, your best bet for something close by is gonna be the places along/near 22. There's a bunch of places along 78/22 like OGII in North Plainfield, Elos in Short Hills, Pet Shanty in Scotch Plains, there's more that I'm missing, but these are the 3 I've been to.
