What are these...???

They are like little conch shells with no opening. They are hard and are shaped like a conch shell even with the spiraled points on one end. My Pistol shrimp keeps pulling them out from his den under the rock. So far, there are two of them. I have a feeling there are more.

Definitely not that. It's something, but not that. Gonna take a pic of it out of the water later.

Some sort of "petrified" shells?? Looks to be the remains of them.

Or it could be the points that have broken off of a larger shell that have been eroded down a bit from tumbling in the sand.

So what are you concerned about?? They are harmless shells, that were probably in your rock. Pistols will always move small rock and shells in and out of their burrow.

They sort of look like teeth you could use them for a good site gag. But I would go with SirF on his two guesses.

have no idea if they were in the sand or not. It is a good explanation though.

I think Phil's idea that maybe they were in your bag of sand sound's the most logical as to how they got there though.
