When I was a kid, I collected stamps and made periodic runs to Nassau Street in lower Manhattan. It was then that I came across the Aquarium Stock Company (AquaStock) off Church Street running between Duane and Reid. They were the largest tropical fish store in the area, and were 99.9% fresh water. I started up a 10g FW tank, but fell in love with their Ocellaris Clowns and Blue Devil Damsels, which was all the SW that was coming in at the time. I gave away my FW tank when I got drafted. When I was discharged in '69 I built myself an acrylic 20gh tank (all glass tanks weren't out yet). My first specimen was a red hairy Philippine hermit crab, and I've had marine fish and inverts ever since...
