Interesting... Now I'm back to square one with not knowing what/who to believe lol
I think it was '05 or '06 that I first heard of this as a potential problem. Since I was using a lot of it in my system at the time I decided to test it out on my own. I took two 2 gallon containers I had and filled them each with water from my tank, I then place a fairly large piece of equal size in each container, and left it there for a week. I gave each container a full battery of tests, and found no difference. So, if there was any PO4, it was undetectable.
Jim, was it brand new egg crate or was it in saltwater prior to the test??
.... I'm getting my tin foil hat on
Unfortunately sarcasm cannot be noticed online "sitting here with my foil cap"
Unfortunately that may be the case here.
Mark sent me a PM requesting to close his build thread (I thought he was just starting a new one).
When I replied it was done he said thanks, he was leaving the club and just wanted to tidy up here before he left.
I wasn't sure why he said that at the time and asked why he was leaving but didn't get a reply yet. Guess now I know what he meant.
I'm quite sure you guys were just joking around but it seems like Mark might have been offended.
If any of you have accounts on RC, it probably wouldn't hurt to find him over there and apologize.
