Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yes, we had some great frag swaps.....even the BIG ONE (MACNA) in Atlantic City in 2009. The major issue is everyone wants them, but nobody wants to work them. It's all Yes, Yes, Yes until you ask for folks to help.
Wait! @Mark_C 's comment, "a line thats in the tank"
Is this dosing line in the tank....that is submerged in water? If so, easy fix....dosing line needs to be above the waterline, and not submerged.
I'm not sure if this is "Randy the Chemist's" reason, but Lugol's is an Iodine salt....containing potassium. Elemental iodine is not a salt....just reactive iodine in some stabilizing solution....likely glycerin. Glycerin would be metabolized as a carbon source.
Misery likes company...............................I meant to say Happy Father's Day.
Now put a smile on that face and tell them you love the rainbow argyle socks they just gave you!
I'm just the messenger on this....and this is what I was told years ago:
The white/light tan ones don't eat corals. However, the dark colored ones are the coral eaters.
Up until my tank transfer, I always had white/light tan ones and never had a problem.
All is not lost....you have a couple options:
1. They sell casement window air conditioners. Just need to make sure it fits and might need to make filler strips. Casement needs to be removed.
2. Assuming the width is wide enough, you can mount a "conventional" window unit in a casement...
Pick up a room air conditioner...they are relatively inexpensive...ca $150. On the marginal days where I don't want to do the whole house, that's what I do. Setting it at 73-74 keeps the tank cool.
First off, glad to see Doug is doing fine.
Here's what I'd do.....verify it's a power supply problem . I assume you have a second LED 90....use that power supply to verify that's the problem.
I'd now spec a new power supply from an electronics supplier....they are a fraction of the price of...
Sea Level Aquarium in Pine Brook was at 35 per box, but heard they upped it to $40. I'm also close to making a salt run, but Sea Level is about 40 miles for me, and the price of gas would kill any deal unless I buy four or so boxes and dilute the gas costs. My last salt buy was Chewy when...
The mixture or vodka, vinegar and water Joe @horseplay provided above is the DIY version of NOPOX. It's a combination of two different carbons. Some just dose vodka, some just do vinegar, but I believe the combination works better...a variety for the bacteria to grow. And yes, you mix the...
Definitely not schedule 80, and I don't think 200 psi meets schedule 40 for 1 inch pipe. Either way, it doesn't matter because all our plumbing is under no pressure, or at worse, only a couple psi. The exception would be basement sump rooms were there is large head pressure....but still...
I don't have the lights, but it's a known issue. If still under warranty, put in a ticket.
Otherwise try a hard reset....I don't remember the detail but it's something crazy like holding a button and unplugging and plugging three times real fast, and do the hokey-pokey, and turn yourself...
Here's the poop on bonding polycarbonate to acrylic...you have a couple choices, and use the one you're comfortable with, because they all work. Not in any order:
1. Methyl methacrylate bonds PC to A just fine. Someone mentioned it above....Weldon 4 I think. You can think of this as a "super...
My reply is not because of your picture, because I can't see anything, but that might be because I'm colorblind.....but my reply is from your red/green comment. There is an invasive mussel from Asia commonly known as the green mussel. When young, they are brightly red/green, and what I've seen...
