Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
You should have a cover on your RODI container. It will help keep unwanted crap out of it including VOCs. Seems a little silly to go thru the work and expense of making the water as pure as you can and then allowing stuff to get in there
If you start a Tale of the tank you can post pics of your current set up. And show us some of those DIY’s. I love to see what other Reefers come up with. Reefing is a community larger than just our specific area. It’s nice that you hoped on to our little forum. While working away. Welcome...
So what do you have in mind. What’s your idea of a “bigger” set up. You should start a tale of the tank. And chronicle your progress. It’s a great place to ask questions specifically about your set up and keep them all in one place for reference.
I hear ya mark. But it is primarily an algae eater. And is soooooo smalll it would have a hard time hurting a brine shrimp lol. Plus as far as the toxin goes. I have 400 gallons of water so the dilution ratio is way up there. He is about the size of a nickel.
Maybe you should think about sleeping on the couch. And stop bothering them during their late nite interlude. I mean come on paulie. You gotta have a brothers back ;)
And I have never had a seam fail. I am presently running a 400 gallon system utilizing six tanks plumbed together all resealed. I have never had a leak. And a couple of the tanks are at least 30 years old
I have done this several times. It really isn't that hard. I see people have given you solid advice including a video. So I would imagine your fine. However if you would like to talk about any questions you may have. Feel free to PM me and I’ll send you my cell number.
To be honest Big Guy. I don’t know sea horses well enough to know there stress level with them big hermits in a small tank. But based on what you wrote and what I’ve seen in your invert tank. Those hermits don’t seem very aggressive. (But they sure do work that gravel). I’d like to think you...
When ever possible... drill, drill, drill. It looks better. And has less problems than HOB units. The only reason beyond glass is tempered to not drill is flat out laziness. I seriously can’t come up with a situation where it’s not better.
