cut off the piece rubbing on the side of the skimmer, still some slight pump noise but i think that will dissipate with time. I'd imagine the skimmer is going to be a little bit all over the place until it breaks in, whatever timeframe that may be.
i have the air adjustment on it fully closed, so no additional air is going through, i ran some vinegar through it, it calmed the pump down a bit, its still breaking in at this point, but my bigger concern is the noise, i'm asking vertex if they will let me file down the plastic without voiding...
Found the issue with the vibration, or at least part of it, back of the skimmer pump mount is pressing against the cone, i'll see what vertex tells me to do at that point.
I just order from amazon and in two days it's there, i recently switched to aquaforest reef salt, lower in alk than rc, mixes fast and clean, and about 20 bucks more than reef crystals box.
I've pulled it apart 3 times, so i'm leaving it alone now, i soaked it in vinegar before putting it in, but after messing with it so much i may have upset it.
usually the snails don't live i believe, if i'm not mistaken the way their life cycle is it would be very difficult for them to survive in our tank. your pic looks like the pods i have in my tank.
from what i can tell there used to be snail eggs there but i think i'm seeing some pods on the glass, not baby snails, but would need a better pic to figure out.
Well, the skimmer decided for the last two days its going to go bat**** crazy so my tank is looking a bit worse now, since it's not really skimming. I was told it's still part of the break in process which could be, but i don't know why it was fine skimming a few days ago, now is a constant...
It seems like it might be working in some areas, I've also added the larger skimmer and more gfo so I don't know if I can attribute it to just the product though
I'm not sure but this may or may not be the reason for some of my coral heading downhill, i'm going to be doing a large water change as soon as i can, after three doses it seems as though my cyano has increased.
Still no update, i've dosed twice, my cyano looks to be happier, but that could be due to dosing a slight amount of nitrates to test out something. Bryopsis does look a bit weaker, but i've also added a beast of a skimmer and 5-6 cups of fresh gfo.
I got the Rodi filters and brs high capacity gfo, and an apex lunar sim module and the leds to go with it, also got the vertex 200i skimmer for a nice price.
