Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Sounds like 2 possibilities. You don't want back pressure in the plumbing back to the sump (under the waterline of the sump. Also double check the flow rate you have going through the skimmer. The feed pump only needs to flow 1.5 to 2 times your system volume.

Personally I prefer hess, why is everyone so against citgo?
One of the biggest problems with them is where they come from. Most often or not they are readily available from the phillipines(poor reputation as far as collection goes) If you can find them from figi/australia/or melanesia they are 100% better but usually come with a higher price tag.
We have a few customers who currently have cross hatch, blue throats, pink tails, and sargassums in reefs with no problems at all. One of which houses fire, cleaner, and pistol shrimps along with fromia and brittle starfish and numerous snails and crabs and have not had any losses associated...
This is an interesting point. I have been trying to wrap my head around what dynamic loss the spiral would create, and cannot find any spa-flex friction loss charts. I can find many for rigid, but if you could point me to one I would appreciate it.
If you leave your return pump off for a substantial amount of time with just your ph's for flow does the problem persist? Could be a pin hole leak in your return plumbing then. Do you see microbubbles in the last chamber of your sump?
