Everytime you setup a tank you learn something new and wish you did it different. I think all of us feel that way, and unless we have a room for all of our gear, its tough to make those changes.

The newer versions of software have been terrible from these guys. I regret upgrading to the last version, was working very well prior to that and now its unstable, not as bad as you are having, but much worse than before the upgrade.
Are you moving into a house right away, could you move again quickly? Maybe your tank will be too big, or maybe too small for the new place. moving it to then sell it would be annoying, but it depends on how you feel about your setup, as others have said.
You can definitely do the nitrate/phosphate removal system with the Apex that you own. Talk with Darren as others have suggested, and search other forums as well, because its a nice option to remove water changes.
