Starting to really hate my apex. I use a dosing pump to maintain calcium and alk in my tank. When I refreshed my calcium I always test it to make sure I have a prime on the pump, well my apex said it was in auto but stayed on, checked it many times so not sure how that happened.
What are...
After Sandy we did the 20kW natural gas Generac. Great solution and unfortunately have used it many times since its installation. NJ power is just so unreliable. I lived in Earthquake country for 8 years and even with quakes, never lost power as often as I do here.
Eels are like anything else, if you keep them well fed they are pretty simple. If i skip a few days of feeding mine, you see a few more snail/crab shells in the tank.
Ok so I will share. I have had tanks back 30 years when I was not even a teenager. I had a tank in the foyer of my parents house with a really nice black ribbon eel (those suckers are long). Well let's just say my mom who is afraid of everything (not joking everything) found the eel...
I think the costs will really depend on where you go and how much of the gear you rent vs buy. I would definitely do as much as you can up in this area prior to going on any sort of trip. Best to get it all done first then travel to a nice place in the Caribbean or the Pacific.
Ok I am taking the clam plunge once again after two previous failures. I figure I will up my chances as I got one from the awesome folks at ACC that is about 4" long. I have a 180 gallon with 2 mp40s and hydra52s.
Just want some feedback to try and get this puppy to live.
Thanks...
Well guess I screwed that up. I always dip and have seen these dead in my bucket so not sure where these came from but they cost me 2 nice SPS pieces. Off to the FUGE they go, or should i just toss them.
These two started out really small and were living in a specific SPS, that one died they moved and after watching them they seemed to of been eating the SPS, but hard to tell.
I used mitre rails perfect solution for the AI lights. This isn't exactly what I used but very similar. The bolts on the lights slide right in. Some of the rails even have built in rulers for measuring.

For the Apex Jr you would have to add the PM1 module so you could do pH monitoring. Its a very simple setup but make sure to follow the calibration methods so it as accurate as possible.
