I have what I would think was hair algea growing in it. The stuff is brown not green. I wanted to show some pics but it doesnt upload the way it use to I guess. Any help with that? I have a main pipe coming down from upstairs to the basement, it "T's" to the sump and the fuge. I haveit flowing...
Yea I googled the worm and noticed the spiral myself but I dont see that in my tank. I will keep an eye on it ofcourse but just dont see that spiral yet. Any other possibilities?
I'm starting to get little white dots on overflow housings. I'm thinking calcium deposits but calcium is 460. Not a great pic but they are just little hard white dots.
Yes I use recipe 1 which raises the ph. I usually only have to add the Alk from BRS every 3 or 4 days, about 80 ml. Once in awhile the Mag. Calcium is even more rare. With all that do I need to add the ph buffer or is that being redundant? And the kh buffer from the LFS is the same as the Alk...
Ok I usually use Reef buffer to raise my ph to 8.3. I ran out and went to my LFS and they didnt have my usual stuff. They gave me Alkalin 8.3-p kh buffer.I use the two part from BRS, isnt that the same as the kh buffer??????????????? My head hurts.
The preflter thing is my fault. I didnt clean the ones on my overflows in the main tank. When I finally did I hand bad stuff in there. I just left them off.
I've been wondering how the BRS reactor is at tumbling the pellets? I know it works great for the my carbon. I dont really like prefilters. I'm worried about nasty bacteria hanging out in them.
I've noticed debris moving around in the reactor, thinking it's bacteria. Have you noticed anything like that? WOW this stuff in the skimmer really STINKS.
So downbeach how is it going? I am running just 500ml which is half of my suggested ml and my nitrates are getting lower. Slowly is the way to go. I put in 1000ml last time and it was a disaster. Big bloom wiped out coral very discouraging.
So I finally picked up the Reef Crystal so here I go with 20G a week for awhile. My nitrates seem to be coming down with only 500ml of P/N bio pellets in the reactor. Since I started the pellets with a quarter of recommended pellets no bloom occured. The last time I tried pellets I killed a lot...
I change 35g every other week. 200G system so 17%. So maybe 20G every week which will increase the overall amount of water change. This will also work on a nitrate problem I'm tinkering with. Does that sound like a shock because I'm not thinking so
OK I'm thinking of changing from Coralife sea salt to Reef Crystals. What is the proper procedure if any to do this. I've been using Coralife for 3 yrs now.
Yea I've heard to keep away from light just wasn't sure about dark. Figured I'd give it a try. I have a BRS reactor running carbon with the refillable cartridge. I need to get another cartridge to make it that much easier to change out. I'm not sure what the bio pellet reactor is but I use to...
