I made a total of 4 1 gallon size ziplock freezer backs of food, It will take me a while to go through that, Just offering two bags up if anyone is interested. I would prefer a trade for a frag rather than sell it, but could probably come up with a price if you would rather do it that way. I can...
A bare spot isn't going to contribute more to nitrate build up. Not that i'm aware of at least. I only put the rubble rock there to hide the bottom of the tank, for looks.
I don't think mixing sand will hurt anything, my last tank tank i actually had to use rubble rock as i couldn't get anything to stay in one corner. Same thing on my new tank, but with the way it's built into the wall, you don't notice unless you get really close.
Thanks again, i think it will fill that area in nicely. Another interesting note with the lyre tail, not sure if it's normal or not, but his bottom two fins are white with red spots on them, not solid red like i've seen in photos.
some of them are more picky, but it all gets eaten. all the fish are fat and happy including anthias and an idol, my mandarin used to love it as well until my last issue, lost him in q/t.
Just picked up some stuff for the fish food, time to make another batch of it. This time around it's flounder, tuna, scallops, shrimp, squid, clam, brine shrimp, mysis, krill, veggie blend cubes and cyclops.
I couldn't resist getting the idol, so far no issues with him. Bubble algae is dying back as well, i'm pretty sure there are two emerald crabs in the system that will eventually get a handle on it.
I guess i'm on a slight anthias kick in my tank, i've got 4 dispars, there will be 3 bartletts, and i'm debating on 3 lyre tails, though i suppose i'd be pushing the limits with all those in a 135g tank.
could have sworn you had a few others, alex has a nice sunburst anthias eating for him. Maybe a trio of dispars, or some of the smaller fish like cardinals, or a hawkfish.
Just a small update, algae is slowly receding, all the acros and coral have come around and are growing back, some were receding a bit, you'll see in some photos, but are making a full turn around. I went and picked up a few things to add.
Got this orange passion, right now blue and green but...
bow fronts are a bit difficult, scraper is usually the best option but even then if its not kept on a perfect angle the blade will not contact fully. if it's just film algae, one of those coarse pads on a stick might work better as it will form a bit more to the glass, i used one of them for...
