I want to increase the amount of water i change from 30-35 gallons to the 50-60 gallons. In my search for food grade containers i came across this site (http://www.easycart.net/FiresideGallery/60_Gallon_Rain_Barrels.html) which does free shipping to NJ. While the barrels have had food in them...
Thinking about doing some BioPellets. While I don't have a major Nitrite/nitrate problem my numbers are slowly ticking upwards. I have the dual chamber BRS Carbon/GFO reactor so was thinking of either adding a single reactor but i have a read a few posts saying not to run GFO and BioPellets...
My Wells does that all the time. Has all its tentacles out and inflates to a huge size, then deflates on its own. I always thought it was a feeding thing.
Thanks for everyone's input. I just completed the vinegar/water bath on my Vortech heads and what a difference this made. While I couldn't remove all the coraline, it did clean the impeller and all sorts of gunk off the piece. What a difference. Next time I will take turns running my pumps...
is it literally vinegar or vinegar and water? Just want to make sure i do this correctly. I was going to do a vinegar bath then rinse with water to wash it all away then place it back in the tank.
Thanks
Its been almost 7 months since my tank has been up and i need to really get the Vortech heads and the lock-line cleaned up and free of stuff.
I have heard the vinegar bath, tooth brush, and other suggestions but nothing with any real detail. How do most people clean these components and...
Cool idea though. Wonder if you can create a rider on your homeowners for tank related stuff. I have one for my network lab at home, as it was worth about 10k before i sold it.
I bought a UPS backup at Best buy and use my controller to turn everything off but a single return pump and 1 power head. Water stays moving and gets oxygen through all the sump components. The battery lasts about an hour, and then i have a generator if that doesn't work. There are more...
I stopped in there a few months ago on my way back from Phili. Great supplies (as everyone said) but the livestock didn't seem that special. Not worth the drive from my location.
It was like this before and after the water change from Thursday last week. All tests are showing up well within acceptable levels. If I try and feed it, it does take it in just not seeing any change. I have a read a few places that this is a typical 'starving' response, just not sure that is...
I have a Bubble tip and it just stopped opening up. The clownfish that hosts in it won't bother it but also won't really leave it. I have tried defrosted krill but it isn't taking it. It hasn't died but it won't open up either.
Any ideas?
Couldn't agree more that the delay on the AI Vega is ridiculous, either they need to release it or stop talking about it.
As far as cost goes they are all expensive but do save some money. They are cooler, cheaper to run and don't require replacement like MH. Just something to think about...
I am running AI Sol Blues, great solution. The new AI Vegas are in pre-order on several sites but cost 1/4 more than the AI Sol Blue. The EcoTech Radion are also getting some nice press but seem very costly, $749 per unit. The other thing is i saw some posts that EcoTech was changing their...
When my moon lights come on for a few days I see tons of baby snails all over my tank. Its very interesting to watch because my turbos have laid eggs numerous time all over the glass, i try to leave them there for as long as i can.
