Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Thanks Darren. I have been trying to cherry pick my pieces. about to order stuff this week to add two or three more pieces. Its actually a year now, which i can't believe.
I forget how many tests came with it but another 20 or so packets was about $8, so its totally worth it. I use the ALK and Phos ones but nothing else as of right now.
I have a long tentacle anemone with 2 maroon clowns homing it. Just wondering how often you directly feed them. Mine goes in and out all the time but the last few days I haven't seen it as extended as usual. Do people just get some krill and hand feed it. Just trying to figure out the best...
I use red sea pro as well. drfosterandsmith.com sell it at the cheapest rate I have found and it qualifies for free shipping, fedex ground to your house in 4/5 days.

Has anyone bought from these folks? There stock looks amazing but I don't want to waste money if it isn't a good group to work with. I have had success with Pacific east aquaculture but poor luck with Vivid aquariums.
Thanks
Skimmer runs all the time so that isn't the issue. I don't like when the socks get backed up because it does restrict water flow slightly. I may go with the mesh anyway because it just becoming too often to change the socks.
So my tank has been up and running for a year now. I use two felt socks and have been the entire time. I have not really tried the mesh socks but was wondering what people's experiences are with the to types or none at all.
The challenge i have right now is I am going away for a week and...
Terrible situation I am sure. I personally have used Red Sea Coral Pro for about a year without issues. I have read so many different things about salt types, and how everyone has good and bad experiences. I almost switched to AquaVitro, just because I read some positive things. Then as I dug...
Annoying I know
I had bought a phosphate kit from Elos and after using it for 9 months, found out it expired 3 months ago. Same thing happened with my pH kit. My ammonia kit was working fine then just produced garbage results, unreadable. Borrowed a friends kit to verify, kits went bad...
I make the water and get it close to tank temperature before I add the salt. I find that it dissolved better in the mid 70s then if you add it to the cooler tap water. I have a heater and a power head in my container to keep things moving while the water is made.
I also use Red Sea Coral Pro...
Figured i would make a post and then follow it up with a bunch of photos.
I started in this hobby back in 1982 when i took over my Dad's fresh water tanks and converted them to Salt. There was a time when I had 5 tanks going during the 80s and really enjoyed it, even got my PADI...
Yeah i don't think the vortech caught him. Fish was only in my tank for a week and the night before ate really well and was very active in the morning. Just very frustrated as i lost this one and a month ago had a great Powder Blue blow his swim bladder.... fun times with fish.
He was a good size, about 3 to 4 inches. I doubt it was the vortech myself was just curious if others experienced this. I wasn't home so I have no idea what happened. 2PM check by wife saw him swimming like a normal fish, 730PM sucked onto vortech like a fish to a grill pan. POOPERS
My beautiful Mimic Tang. Fish was swimming around perfectly this morning, just got home and it was stuck to the Vortech, side all torn up, eye pulled. CRAP. anyone else every experience something like this?
A friend of mine had a 340 built by these guys: http://www.coasttocoastaquariums.com/ Tank looks awesome and they are in NJ. We rented a truck and picked it up or you can pay they to coordinate delivery.
