I use a homemade blend of fish food, its a blend of seafood you can get at the store, frozen squid, flounder, bay scallops, shrimp, probably a few others i'm forgetting, as well as packaged frozen stuff like mysis, some bloodworms and brine shrimp, krill, silversides, whatever other frozen stuff...
You're pretty brave trusting a pump with suction cups. Every one i've had like that has hit the sand. Have you looked into Vortech or Tunze pumps? I think Tunze would be more your style, and they have a pretty good track record, i'm not sure where they are made though.
If you have sps corals, yes, you need to test alk, calc, and mag. lps i would still test for but not so much. softies you don't need to test for those three. besides those three, after a tank is going, the only other items i test for are phosphates and nitrates from time to time, ph should be...
Theres a couple emeralds in there as far as i know along with two pencil urchins, at least thats what i put in. Between the size of the tank, the amount of algae in there, and the fact that they are all small, i don't really see them. I haven't seen the smaller urchin after a few days of putting...
It was on a 40b tank, it's oversized for the tank, but if you have a heavy bioload oversized is good. Either way it would work just fine on the tank, it is large though, if you want to look up it's footprint.
i could see the monthly raffles helping with this as well, but more than likely it would either be one small item a month or we could do it 4 times a year with a larger priced item.
Have a 40 breeder tank and black stand, tank was used for about 6 months, stand is in good shape, used for about the same time. Located in Winslow township. Make an offer, open to trades, not so much on equipment, mostly livestock.
tank to the right is also for sale separately
I would either use rubble rock or seachem makes a product called matrix, pretty much the same thing. Up to you on the chemipure, purigen and filter floss, personally i try to leave out as much as possible, right now i'm using a skimmer, live rock, some chaeto and at the moment a reactor with gfo...
Yes, Winslow Township, I can get pics tomorrow, everything just went through a vinegar bath while painting another room and replacing the faucets in the bathroom tub, lol. As for price, i may be a bit flexible but the light and ato are just about brand new. Skimmer is about 2 years old but...
Breaking down a 40g tank, have a few items to sell. I have a chinese led box off amazon, bought for 110, galaxyhydro 165watt, looking for $80. Used roughly 6 months. Next up is a Tunze 3155 ATO, 3 months old, still have the box, $160. Last is the Reef octo BH2000 hang on back skimmer, pump was...
well, i have 0 nitrates, i have a hanna ulr phosphorus tester that reads 0 ppb, now coral might be a bit pissed off a little bit, i'm hoping this takes out the algae.
Maybe he just hasn't found it yet, how long has the algae been in there that you are aware of? I agree with kevin, the best way is to remove and scrub it, you can soak the area in hydrogen peroxide as well out of the water for a few minutes if that is an option, that will kill it off.
