Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
For the raffle you buy tickets, and then put your ticket(s) in the cup of the coral you want to try and win, and then wait for the newbie luck to strike. From each cup we pull a ticket and the person with the matching ticket wins. New members and people attending their first meeting always seem...
That's me being lazy and not searching. ;)
I have a Reef Octo. XS-160 (Great skimmer, pulls out a ton of gunk) and a NWB-110. The noise and splashing like you said are two issues I need to address. The inside of my stands are white from the saltwater splashing. Now that I searched I see it's a...
Yes, you could do it if you want. There are dimmable constant current drivers that can drive 3 to 10 (some up to 14) 3W LEDs. You would have to put them on their own circuit and you would then need a controller that can handle 3 seperate channels to control and dim all three.
As of right now there is a 75% chance I'll make the meeting. I'm feeling pretty good and getting better by the day so that percentage might be higher by Saturday.
With that said, I will most likely take my own vehicle for the leg room and if i need to leave early I can. And if I have such a...
My first choice for filtration would be to drill the tank and get a sump, trust me you will be happy in the long run. Plus you will have a much cleaner looking tank with the heater and skimmer (if you get one) in the sump.
Otherwise, I had that SubCurrent fixture in my 20L frag tank. To get...
In Nanos, lenses are usually not required. When you get into tanks that are 18" and deeper, that is when lenses become important. There might be another case to use them but I'll get into that a little later.
I didn't know they made BuckPucks higher than 1000mA, I use Meanwell drivers myself...
Sorry to hijack your thread Bax.
I highly recommend, for that size tank, getting two 1.5" drains.
I have one 700 G-H with 1.5" on my 65G (36x18x24) and I wish I went for the 1500 with two 1.5" drains. I'm really pushing the limits of the one drain and wish I had that extra drain for: 1)...
I had the same problem a few years back, I would get shocked when I touched my light fixture. It turned out one of my maxi-jet powerheads was leaking voltage into the tank. After I replaced the powerhead I no longer had the shock problem. At that point, I also installed a GFCI outlet.
You...
I was running 12 3W Cree LEDs on my 20L and had bleaching of some of my SPS if I went over 40%. I raised the fixture 10" above the water and only ran the fixture at 35% max.
Since the fixture is not dimmable, I would go high as you can and work your up on the photo period and then work on...
