Thanks to everyone involved. Was able to stop by for a little while and picked up a couple things. Nice meeting Darrin and thanks for all your help. Was able to pick up a few things. I second the fact that he (and the other guys) worked their buts off getting the invert orders ready and...
I had a bad case of cyano for a few months. Finally got rid of it by doing a better job of my tank upkeep. 1) I started skimming a little wetter (as someone said). 2) I did 5 % water changes twice weekly for awhile. 3) I shortened the time on my main display lights for awhile and 4) I THINK...
Everybody, so sorry for not getting back sooner. I have been swamped all day and didn't get a chance to reply. I didn't realize the interest that this would generate. Paul, did me a favor a few years ago when I was starting and gave me some free stuff, and since he was one of the 1st to...

Keep that rock away from others for now and just keep an eye out for more. It there are, since it is easy to pull out the rock, take care of it out of the tank. Sometimes you have to try in the tank on rocks you can't get out and the spores of the Aptasia can spread easily if it is...
It won't come out good. :) Anything over 0 TDS and you are feeding the algae. Even the best tap water is over 50. Mine is 200. RO/DI is the only way to go to avoid algae problems (even then, there are other things that can cause it)
Dave,
Just an FYI: I put in a GBTA (medium size) in my tank. It walked and walked and never found a spot it liked. I went to bed every night worried about where it would be in the morning (with many 2am checks). Often I couldn't find it being hidden behind rocks. One morning (after about 3...
Having the 29g definetly sped things up. (With the livestock, live rock and the 3 years of experience).
The Mandarin: I really wanted this fish and did a TON of research. The general consensus is not to put one in anything under like a 55 gallon. After reading some success stories I found...
I am on his mailing list. All in all he gives pretty good advice (although most of it is pretty basic). As asonitez said, he is getting more commercial and trying to make money (I guess I can't blame him). Another source for information and opinion if nothing else.
Thanks. I used mostly dead rock (1/2 Pukani from BRS and 1/2 Key Largo from Marco Rocks) and was able to play around with it before I put in the water. The right side of the tank was all the rock from the 29 gallon that I transferred. Here is a picture of the new stuff before the water.
After losing my orginal thread with the hosting "issue" I guess it is time to start over.
Quick History: Had a 29g JBJ for 3 years and upgraded to a 90 gallon in April. So now after 5 months, here is where I am at.
Just added my last fish (probably) 2 weeks ago:
Current Fish:
1) Blue...
Again, I battled this relentlessly for 2 years by manual removal and partial fixes (rock scrubbing etc). I was not able to "cook" my rock in any way because it all had coral attached.
I basically just lived with the bryopsis just trimming it back often. When I upgraded I finally decided to...
