the glass shattered may be due to too much pressure "on one side", may be you should put water to both side at tha same time...? if you have too much water on one side, even the new glass will be fine, your glue/silicon may failed before the water go all the way up...

one of the reason of the overflow draining too fast may be due to your sump do not have enough water to let you pump push them up fast enough...
you can try to use the overflow drain tube go "directly" into the refuge, and "twist" the refuge's outlet down, so both outlets will drain...

i think Lowes have it, just bring your Loc Line fitting to lowes to ask some one servicing that area, you most likely will be able to find the parts you need.
