i don't remember where i read (something recently) about using all the tank water going through the refugium have a advantage of let the macro algea "purelify" all the tank water, then to the sump with a skimmer, than back to the display tank.
what is the advantage of only letting not the full...
Today while i was at work, my wife call said "there are many ant like bug crawling in our house near a window's area...." they could be Termite, so she call around and finally be able to get a company to stop by to take a look, sure enough, they guy said it is Termite for sure!!!
After i came...
but, who will tell?
- fish can't talk, can't write
- when people (or you) see tanks with beers, what would you do? report to abuse-hotline? or drink along with Sam???
;D
note:
at that time, i was still a student, and can't affort to waste any penny... (get every cent supported from my old man's hard earn $)
:-[
and that was a $150 piece of crap... so... (you know, crazy thing you do as a kid...)
;)
i am like mynd, my rock have ZIP tied to the PVC pipe (see below for more details), beside i have a 210g display tank, and with 130g sump, 100g refugium, so the REAL total water volume is close to 380g, so one hole of dirt won't matter much... ;D (i guess... ???)
my tank have PVC pipe-frame lay...
let me sum it up with more details:
- you can use small liverock, or reef-plug/frag-plug
- drill a hole in it (some reef-plug comes with hole already)
- cut the frags put them aside in a container with the same tank water
- use paper tower to dry the serface of the rock/plug
- apply some...
1.
- you can use small liverock

a side story:
about 15 years ago, i was pissed of one guy that sell me something defected, but not allow me to return it.
so i keep calling his house at the middle of the night 2am or 3am, and say nothing... in the day time, i go out to use public phone, and call him from there, then leave the...
mfisher2112,
the issue is, sometime i may want to drill hole on the side (ie. 45 degree) long straight bit would not work.
Carlo,
thanks for the info, i will keep thinking to see if i can find any way to over come this problem. my original concern was afraid of the protential electric shock...
hm...
did not thought of that - grease and salt issue...
:-\
is there anyway to stuff a rubber at the end near the drill bit and not let the salt water comes in?
or is possible to have it in the water, but the grease not come out? how about using the FOOD GRADE grease?
thx
what i meant is:
we could have a "thread" to go and see about how to frag all different type/kind of corals (only)
- not all type jam into "one link".
- not mix with other discusion links
thx
Some time when mounting the frag, I always thinking about ONLY IF there is a underwarer drill, i could then drill a hole in some of my Live rock (cause the LR may be too big, or too much trouble to take them out..)
Today, i saw this accessory in HomeDepot, do you guy think this will work??? :o...
if can snap it off... but, not a prefered method...
