Tom, same here, we only concern the water vapor issue, anything else is good. like mott768 suggested, "anything" can protect the pump ran dry is a good idea... :)

Brian, you are right... I was always wondering how come that baffle on my sump was so low, now i know why... ;D being be the baffle as so low, i was doing daily water top-off of about 3 gals during the summer time (cause i am too cheap to buy a chiller, and have a 20" fan blowing on the top...

looking at the picture, it seems just broken off from the bottom... once you have it broken off, if you want to share the other half, let me know we can 50/50 on the cost... thx -David

it is ok, it won't hurt your fishes, nor corals... i always unplug my skimmer after the epoxy putty, and plug them back in next day...
