Just typical superglue gel, any brand. If I can, I do the glueing out of the water. If have to, I glue then place into tank on rock and usually holds in a few minutes. Sometimes it does take a second time. Been working good for me for years now. I prefer the small tubes, cause sometimes the...
I had a flame for a few years then one day he decided to start nipping constantly on a few corals. I had to remove him, cause he wouldn't stop. Everything looks much better now.
Looking real nice. At times I debate switching over to FOWLR. I just love some of the non-reef safe fish. And a second tank is not an option for me, unless I move out.
I love the Butterflies, so many to choose from and many will fit in reasonable sized tanks. I really like the Pakistan and Blackback, to name two. Just watch cause some are very delicate.
I you read through that other thread it does state different amounts needed in different volumes, but you really have to look through it. Looking at it again, in post #98: Randy says you need 40 grams of solid NaOH (lye) to get 1 liter up to 1M, which is the recommended level. In other posts...
My sand bed is between 1" - 2", so I vacuum it or stir it up on a weekly basis. Stir it using a turkey baster and blow on it to get the tanish junk suspended and out of the sand. If I use the wide tube type of syphon, it doesn't take up too much sand. My sand it a mixture of fine playsand to...
My LFS only had Kents Lugol's and I gave it a try and it helped multiple LPS recover, so I use it for all corals. I even dose it from time to time. Great stuff.
My LPS (Hammers, Torch, Frogspawn, etc.) were doing this until no more were left years ago. The heads would start opening less then pop, off they came. It was driving me crazy. I even went a year or so with no LPS, then got new ones and the same reaction. A while ago I tried some LPS and...
When I used to feed less, I would just take a butter knife and cut the cube in half. I would usually just pop the tin cover, leave it in the pack and force the knife into the middle of the cube using the pack to help hold it in place. It would also cut the pack, but not too bad. I've also...
I switched from Mrs. Wages to Seachem & Two Little Fishes Kalk and had no changes in my heavy coraline growth. I did the switch a few years ago. Still growing like crazy. I'm not sure how the BRS compares to the Seachem & TLF. I have MH's with VHO's and never really have problems even after...
