Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Mine is far from a new skimmer. I've got a 7+ year old ASM G-2 in my 90 gallon mixed reef. I'd say my bioload is medium to heavy and I feed a cube of food every day and sometimes on weekends twice a day. I am running the stock Sedra 3500 with a mesh mod impeller and it is working good.
I was...
I dose for calcium, magnesium and alkilinity. It is usually recommended to switch salt mixes slowly, like mixing 50% old mix with 50% new mix and slowly ramping it up until it's only the new mix. You could try doing water changes with just the new brand, but remember slower is better. Maybe do...
I've used Crystal Seas Marine Mix before. It was clearly the cheapest at the time and came in a 150 gallon box, but did come in a bucket, but that was a little more. The Hidden Reef did sell it too, but Aquarium Center had it for like $25 a box and they were 5 minutes away. It worked fine...
Beautiful fish. Angels are one of my favorite fish. I've though of getting a few, but just have the one Lamarck. I too have had bad luck with corals and dwarfs. Decided not to try anymore.
Thanks for hosting Jim. Great meeting and nice to see so many Southern members. Awesome tank you have there. Good luck with the sump upgrade in the future. George (TanksNStuff) - thanks for the Birdsnest, it's mounted and looking great. Dougc - the frag has settled in and appears happy...
Sounds good. I'm not sure how big the pieces will be, but I believe there was enough GSP for the three of you. I'll bring what I have. Even a small piece of GSP should grow fairly quickly.
malulu - GSP
Taz - GSP
brandonsreef - leather & GSP
See you guys there. Not sure how many bags I've...
Anybody want any unmounted green star polyps (the bright green long polyped kind) or unmounted finger leather (pinkish)frags? It will be free, I just did some trimming. If nobody wants it I'll just throw it away. There are a few pieces of each. Either can just be rubberbanded to a piece of...
No personal experience, but when I was researching the dwarfs, they were listed as one of the more risky ones. 1/2 blacks were listed as less risky, but don't tell that to the one I got, cause it wouldn't leave corals alone. I guess if you like them, then try then, but make sure you can either...
I've currently got a female Lamarck in mine. Not quite the kind of yours, but I like her. I haven't had the best of luck with Dwarfs. I had a half black that loved my corals, would just nip from one to the next, to the next, until I removed him. I also had a Flame for over two years, then he...
I found this chart posted on another forum back on January 2011. Hopefully it still applies. I use the 20 Long as my sump and I've drilled the back, just not the bottom.
I've had one from many years, but I couldn't add any small fish. I assume it was him. The new fish would be out and fine for a few days, then they would disappear. Some times, I'd see them in the tiny cave openings. I believe it was my CBS, but never saw it eat any fish. The larger fish did get...
