Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah, I wish I put my rock on the bottom. I have mine sitting on the sand, which I believe squashed a Jawfish when he was making a borrow.
I just added RO/DI water to my 90 and then added the saltmix. I let the system run for a day, then added some sand and cured LR from my old system. As...
Don't kill me, but I actually find the show entertaining. It's kind of like a comedy with some really wild tanks, plus some really nice fish, too. They apparently do a great job of creating one of a kind tanks. Which is supposedly their thing.
Now, I see plenty of things like the rest of...
Thanks Matt. The one closer to me does have 100, but I either have to become a member or pay more, so I'm going to use them as a last resort. If the other stores restock in the next week or two, I'll just buy from them.
Hey George, I checked the store near us and they don't have it in stock. Couldn't you just get a V30A plug and wire it in to use the other two plugs or is there more to it? In the owners manual it says the regular V20 receptacle is for up to 2400 watts, while the other two V30A Twist-Lock and...
Tank looks great. The new bulbs makeit look much better. I'm still a big fan of the MH bulbs. It seams most people have either switched to T5 or LED.
Good luck with the storm. Hopefully, everything will survive.
Nice find Sid. Some really good ideas there. I have always opened the curtains in the fish room to give them light during an outage. Whoops, I'll leave them closed this time. I think I've even feed them sometimes too. Not this time. I've got (2) battery powered air pumps with extra...
Hey Dave. Everything's looking great. I'm amazed your doing so good with tap water. That's what I started with and couldn't keep my levels down and that was before I went reef. Good Luck to you.
I'm using the same bulbs as George, so now I know it's not my light. My Chaeto is almost gone. I'm guessing it's my lack of nutrients. My Hanna meter always measures 0.00. My Mangroves also appear to have slowed very much, too.
What type of bulb are you using, just a simple screw in CFL or something else?
I used to use a Lights of America 65Watt 6500K fixture and my chaeto grew good. Never to the degree that some people get though. After that fixture burned out, I just got a standard fixture with a 5500K screw in...
Like the others have said, it probably won't work out good in the long run. The tank size may also be an issue too.
George - Glad to hear the Eibli is doing good with the corals.
Sorry about the tang loss. But, wow the stand and canopy look amazing. You did an awesome job on them. The tank looks great too.
Sirfragalot - I used to be able to get Yellow Tangs for about $20-$25, now they're just under $50 in my area. Where are you finding them so cheap these days?
I had issues with my PO4 too. I beleive my rock was leaching it as the GFO would lower it. It eventually did go down, but it took switching out my GFO more regulary, I think it was every week. I don't see how it could hurt to use two reactors.
I went this route and starting using WM EcoBAK...
I used Methvins Glass in Eastampton to get doors cut for my lizards enclosure. They did a great job and the price was good. You could call them and see if they can hook you up. 609 267-3331. They're not far from Cherry Hill.
