Don't want to high jack this thread, but didn't want to start a new one for a related question. I just got a new Mp QD40 will it work directly with my Apex Jr. or do I need to get the wxm module.

I like running two heaters via the Apex. If main fails, back up kicks in for protecting against low temps and Apex turns off, if it fails on, ,to protect from high temps. Also a Jagers fan. Have two new backs ups on hand. We spend hundreds on back up generators, what is $50 in extra heaters....

Thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention I also run kalk in my top off. And I do use BRS calcium chloride. My system is mixed reef with about 15 pieces of SPS. Some pretty large.

I've did a batch yesterday at 300 for 1 hour. Will increase next time. BRS recommends 2.5 cups per gallon on the Calcium and will follow their soda ash recommendation too. My main question is how many mls to add daily based on 0.5 oz of soda ash and 4 oz of calcium per week on 225 gallon system...

Finally time to add a doser. Santa is bringing it. Currently manual dosing 0.5 oz of baked baking soda and 4 oz of calcium chloride crystals per week based off of keeping Alk at 8.4 and Calcium at around 440. . Total water volume is approx 225 gallons. Any suggestions on how much I should add...

Sounds like you maxed out the DI and then kept making water with it. The inline TDS really help in those situations.

Can I use RODI tubing for the dosers? I have lot of that laying around or do I need something special?
