I'd go with 4-5 aqua suns and 3-4 super actinides(I'd swap these out for ATI blue plus) Everyone has there own taste when it comes to lighting so it's hard to say what you'd like.Check out Jersey Wendy's tank thread for more info on what she uses.She has a really nice tank and she uses t-5s.

Not sure what you have going on but I'd leave the pump going to the fuge on all the time. You want to keep water flowing through the fuge. I never turn off my skimmer though some people might.

what are you feeding the skimmer with?is there a valve on the feed pump? what valve are you using to adjust the skimmer? a valve after the feed pump should be used to adjust the water level in the skimmer and that red valve is used to fine tune it it shouldn't matter if the return pipe is in or...
