I change mine every 5-6 days. It's the ones with the 4" ring.10 weeks sounds a little long for any size sock.I'd change that one now and go two week the most.
I'd go with 4-5 aqua suns and 3-4 super actinides(I'd swap these out for ATI blue plus)
Everyone has there own taste when it comes to lighting so it's hard to say what you'd like.Check out Jersey Wendy's tank thread for more info on what she uses. She has a really nice tank and she uses t-5s.

I have that camera. It's not a dslr but way better then most point and shoots.Works great on a tripod even for sports shots.took lots of pictures of my kids playing soccer.
Must use tripod when you go more then 3x and not the best for close ups. But I'm happy with it.Here are some pictures I've...

Not sure what you have going on but I'd leave the pump going to the fuge on all the time.
You want to keep water flowing through the fuge. I never turn off my skimmer though some people might.
I'm using a das-ex1 and it works great. built like a tank. The person i got it from got the msx because its not as tall as the das.He said they work about the same.I set it up and adjusted it and haven't had to adjust anything since.I know people also use the octopus with good results...
what are you feeding the skimmer with?is there a valve on the feed pump?
what valve are you using to adjust the skimmer?
a valve after the feed pump should be used to adjust the water level in the skimmer and that red valve is used to fine tune it
it shouldn't matter if the return pipe is in or...
just take your time and play with it and you will become familiar with how it works.
like everything in this hobby it takes time to learn new stuff.
i'm far from an expert and i've asked some questions(Phyl&John).I'm told Phil(pgordemer)
is the person to talk to.

i like these cause they don't need adjusting when the power goes out(not to often)
mine are a little different and they also adjust to day light...
i tried ati aquablue special, uvl super actinic, uvl 75.25,and i found 2 ati blue+ and 2 uvl aquasun(10k)to make the zoas (only thing i keep) look the best for me.
cost me 4 extra bulbs to find what works for me but it was well worth it cause the zoas haven't looked this good since I set these...

i called coralalife to find out if i can run t5s off there 96w pc ballast they told me they didn't know. but i could try with old bulbs. i never...
