I decided to remove a good portion of my substrate and I currently have 2 x 5 gallon buckets of it that was pulled out of my tank in the last couple of days. Each bucket easily weighs 40-50lbs and you get to keep the buckets as an added bonus :D
No I have the 10.5 deluxe. That has a giant cup and a float switch built into it so when it fills up my apex turns off the skimmer. I never let it get that high but for those times when a skimmer goes berzerk for some unknown reason it comes in handy.
That's awesome!!!! I have had zero problems with mine in the year that I am running and it pulls out some amazing and awful gunk from the tank. I just ordered a neck swabie for mine from Avast.
Brandon here,s the top of my ATB. You arent missing anything other than the piece of tube mine has for ozone hook up.

you may be going thru a mini cycle if you removed the dsb from the old sump. When removing substrate you have to be careful not to remove too much at one time. I would definitely test ammonia.
Paul, I have the deep blue 80g as a frag tank on my system and have had no problems with it in the year that I have owned it. I think the key as is with all tanks and stands, is making sure the tank is 100% level. Im not saying that seams dont blow out on tanks but I wonder if you look at some...
