Good luck with your new additions....7 fish at one time is a lot to add. How big of a qt do you have?

    In market for new fish

I would agree with Mike on the Emperor. I would only add him if you already accept the fact that there is a good chance of losing corals. Not knowing what other fish you have in the 150g makes it hard to suggest what you should get. So, what do you have already?

    duncans not looking to good

I have noticed that for a couple of days a month my duncans will close up or look a little like yours and then I usually see a new head forming. Its possible that you will see another head forming soon. I agree that as long as its eating you are good but def keep an eye on it. I have found...

    Considering LEDs

i am seriously considering switching to mh/t5 but heat is an issue for me. Even during the winter my tanks stays around 77.5 without the heater coming on. My basement stays warm. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

    Milwaukee Phosphate Low Range Colorimeter

i just got the MI-412 after giving up on the hanna ulr. the inconsistoncies were driving me crazy. I really like the new kit....very easy to use, no worries about the meter turning off before all of the reagent disolves and most importantly....consistency. Its expensive but I am very happy...

    Considering LEDs

The one thing that I have learned and Alex will tell you this, is that just because the lights can be run @ 100% intensity doesnt mean you have to. My light consists of 4 leds banks that are 150w each and 4 x 80w t5's. Seems like that as soon as i bring the leds higher than 70% intensity...

    Considering LEDs

they do look interesting but I am confused....they say the 32" fixture is 200w but they also say it has 99 x 3w LEDs which is 297w's. I would love to see one on a tank or a demo video to see how the ramping up and down of the colors is. Nice part with using multiple fixtures on this one is you...

    Considering LEDs

you will probably need three but could start with two and carefully place your corals. As your corals grown you can keep an eye out for another unit to add to it.

    Considering LEDs

since you have t5's on there now, what about looking for some used AI sol's? You can put purple bulbs in the t5's and run the AI's in place of the MH's. If you look at Sunny's tank (Monroereef) he is running that set up and his corals are gorgeous. Something else to consider since a lot of...

    Considering LEDs

stick with mh and t5's. IMO for your budget I dont think you find lights that will give you the coverage and color. If heat wasnt an issue for me I would switch back from led/t5 to mh/t5. Just my .02 Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

Oh no he didn't, oh yes he did 180 gal build

oh yes....the cup has a nice tight fit to it thst requires a little tug. Here's how I'm looking at it.....you will still need to clean the neck of the cup at least once a week because it will get dirty fast unless you get the swabbie but even then that needs to be cleaned. If you use the...

Oh no he didn't, oh yes he did 180 gal build

how big is the collection cup? Do you have an apex or another controller? If you're worried about it overflowing I would carefully drill a hole in the lid for the cup and get a float switch for it. if you have a controller you can program the float switch to turn off the skimmer when the cup...
