Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The 12g is starting to look like its old self. The trumpet frag is growing nicely, and the ricks and yumas look good as well. My rock in the basement is still a nasty mess, which is preventing me from moving it upstairs to the 12g, unfortunately. Mike keeps threatening to take more photos, so...
UPDATE: We have had 5 acros in the DT for one week, as of Saturday. A red planet, a green slimer, an efflo, and two unidentified but pretty acros we have had since the heyday of the 45g cube in 2010.
So far, all five are doing well in the DT, with lots of polyp extension and good color...
I had trouble with keeping a pico stable. Mine is 3g, and I had done fine with a 5g hex before, and I had kept a 1 g nano (in the 1990s) so I thought it would be OK- and it was a NIGHTMARE. That said, the Pico did not have a lid, and my 5g and my 1g both did, and I believe the Fluval does, and...
Our overflow for the 205 has a cover. Our overflow for the 45g cube also had a cover. It does help with fish, but it does not stop snails from committing suicide.
The shrimp should be OK so long as they can get away from your hawkfish. As far as inverts go, we have always been on the heavier side. With the 45g cube, we probably had over 20 nasarrisus, 20 trochus, 20 ceriths at any given time. That is 60 of your hundred. At any given time, we also would...
The MP could be OK, at one point we were running an MP40 on our 45 cube. It would need to be dialed all the way back, but I would not rule it out until you have it in hand and can try it.
That said, if someone is willing to trade you for an MP10, that would also work.
With the bioload you...
If you have one fish in the tank, and you replace it with ten, if you are lucky it will cycle. If you are unlucky, your tank will crash.
If you want my opinion, the gobies and hawk are ok, the cardinal is going to get a bit big for the size tank. My cardinal was the size of a dime when I got...
Those are pretty big fish for a 40g. Alone, the wrasse or the pair of clowns might be ok, but together, that is a lot of fish for the tank. What are the dimensions on the tank? I ask because clowns can be territorial, especially as they get older. . .
Our45g cube used to house a Dracula goby...
You are probably going to need two fixtures for that size tank. We used two AI SOL Blue fixtures over our 57g.
If I were you, I would look for two used fixtures with a controller. The AI SOL Blues, Radons, and Razers are all good fixtures that you may be able to find used.
We Have Acros In The DT!!!
The dip mike referred to was Reef Pest Solutions All Out Dip.
We moved five acros up to the DT tonight. I can't begin to tell you the last time I was this excited. To top it off, one of my favorite LFS had acro crabs, so I got to add acros AND acro crabs to the DT...
