Sure Taz. Just need to find my digital camera. May take a day or two.

What's a good SPS to start with?

I'd put a refugium in place with macroalgae. It helps a lot. It won't get your nitrates down to 0 (by itself), but it will help a lot.

    Coral ID

Sorry for the delay in response Dave. I was off-line for a few days. Anyway, yes, mine is pretty flexible as well. Never tried to tied it in knots, but it is flexible, more along the lines of a willow branch. I'm actually wondering if you can frag it. It seems pretty easy to just cut a branch...

This looks like a gorgonian. I have one just like it, but about twice as long with a few more branches.

    Do amphipods / copipods molt?

That's what I figured as well. Thanks for the response Matt.

    Do amphipods / copipods molt?

A couple times a week, I see an amphipod/copipod floating around in my tank that's almost transparent. I'm not sure if they are just dead pods or the exoskelton of a molted pod. Does anyone know? Thanks.

    Can you identify this Coral?

Yea, I agree. I don't think it's a birdsnest because of what you just said about the tips. Plus, it's seems like it's an encrusting coral (a lot) before it branches out. Seems like the overwhelming opinion is a digi. Thanks for everyone's input.

    Can you identify this Coral?

Thanks mikem. This is my second post. I got quick helpful answers for both questions/posts. Great help on this forum. :)

    Can you identify this Coral?

Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it. Like I said...if you're near Marlton and want a small frag of it (for free), let me know. BTW, it seems like this stuff grows quick.

    Can you identify this Coral?

Hello all. Although I've been into saltwater for about a decade, I'm a relative newbie to both reefs and this forum. I purchased some live rock from someone and it had this coral on a bunch of the live rock. I think it's some type of SPS, possibly an acropora?? In any case, does anyone know...

Joe's Juice - successful AND safe?

Thanks Jcurry. Yea, I've heard about the Berghia's. Couple things though...1) where do you get them? I've never seen them in LFS. And 2) I heard that once they eat the aptasia, they starve to death. Hey, we should start a "Berghia" pass-around program ... keep the buggers for a couple weeks...

Joe's Juice - successful AND safe?

Thanks for the advice folks. I appreciate it. I'll give it a try this weekend.

Joe's Juice - successful AND safe?

Has anyone had experience with Joe's Juice near SPS? There's a couple threads and it seems like it'***** or miss on the aptasia, but for those of you that had success killing the aptasia, did you have any fallout with your corals. One popped up for the first time, I think it was a hitchhiker on...

Coral Banded Shrimp compatible with other shrimp?

My tank is a 125 gallon with about 200 lbs of live rock...plenty of places to hide. Also, it sounds like a couple of you have two c/b shrimp. I didn't think you could put two together unless they were mated pairs. I guess I'm wrong. Anyway, sounds like many of you have had success with c/b...

    Acrylic / Glass

Just an FYI...last time I went to a glass shop for custom glass panel for a tank cover, I asked the guy if he had any acrylic scrap pieces. He gave me pieces that were around 2" by 3" for 5 bucks a piece. If you buy acrylic "brand new", yes it's expensive. But if you buy scrap pieces, they are...

Coral Banded Shrimp compatible with other shrimp?

Just curious...I have a coral banded shrimp and was considering adding other shrimp to my tank. Possibly some peppermint shrimp or pistol shrimp. Can anyone advise if there will be compatibility problems? Thanks.
