    NEED BOXES !!!

Our local BJ's or other type of Bulk store, always has an abundance of boxes for the taking. Prior to the bulk stores, I used to call my local grocery store. They would tell me when they were going to stock shelves, and I would go by to get my fill of boxes that were the size I wanted.

    Clam Issues

First, glad to hear you were able to take it out. That was a great suggestion. Clam looks like a Maxima, but a clearer picture of the shell would help. Maxima has more defined ridges and the shell is less curved from side to side. Crocea would be more rounded with less defined ridging on the...

    Clam Issues

3 inches is supposed to be the magic number for when the nutrients are primarily derived from photosynthesis. If it was me, i guess I would wait a bit more before doing anything drastic. I just can't see a good way of getting it out without risking some serious damage to the clam. As long as...

    Clam Issues

To be honest, while I would want it out, just because it would bug me. I would be concerned of doing significant damage while trying to get it. Is the mantle fully extending, but the shell does not open all the way, or are both impaired? Is the clam large enough where most of its nutrients are...

    Clam Issues

Is it able to close fully with the coral there? If you wait above the clam after the initial close, will it open again, possibly giving you an opportunity to get the coral? While I would want to get the coral out, I am not sure you could definitively say whether it will be an issue long term.

Hot Water Heater Leaking At Top

Thanks for the input steamman and the offer Nick. The leak ended up being bigger then I originally thought, and Mike helped me out. We replaced the existing power vent with a new one, mostly because my wife did not know anyone with a tankless and we were not sure how much the final cost would...

    Salinity issues

If you are using salt water to top off, then this is almost certainly your issue.  You can use a refractometer, but I believe that is not relevant to your resolution, just a more accurate measurement tool.

    Salinity issues

Didn't notice the trailing salinity as part of the top off. Although I would expect the number to be a lot higher, as already mentioned, unless frequent water changes are happening. Might need some more info from the OP on this one.
