    Our 57g rimless

Thanks Bill :) We'll get it back up to par, I am just bummed about the fish. Hopefully, we'll get the wrasse out soon and everyone else will calm down. We'd love to show off if you can make it down to the meeting :)

    My fish are dying...:(

New, premixed water. Velvet has a free-swimming stage in it's life cycle, so no water from the 34g. Make sure your temp and your specific gravity are the same. If you need to buy pre-mixed water, several sponcers sell it (tropaquarium, reef to reptiles, red sand off the top of my head). You...

    My fish are dying...:(

I am not condeming your fish choice, I am simply suggesting smaller fish. FYI, I kept a Toby in a 1g nano for 4 years, and a maroon clown, raccoon butterfly, and 2 damsels in a 20g tank for 6 years. Knowing what I know now, I personally choose to keep smaller fish in my small tanks. Keeping a...

    My fish are dying...:(

I think Darren is right about the velvet diagnosis, which I am very sorry to say as it is likely a death sentence. To allow the tank to go fallow, you will have to remove every fish. It is possible to have a carrier otherwise. You should also isolate those chromis, if they are still with you...

    Our 57g rimless

LOL, thats a GREAT idea, I think that another good fit might be a dogface puffer. . . they are reef safe, and 57g is pleanty for them, right :) No seriously, I think that we are going to go with some super small fish. I was REALLY REALLY upset to find the helfrichi and the yasha on the floor...

Moving fish to new tank order

Good luck with your move! We have one of those anems that LOVES to move around; I find that i really have to watch it if something in its enviroment (like it's tank) changes. I do think putting the shrimp in earlier is a good idea, just watch that the fish you are adding don't create a cycle.

    Our 45g cube

So the livestock has been in the tank for a week now, and I am pleased to report that most things are doing well. We liost three sps frags to rtn, but luckily, it did not spread. The pretty little Acan we got at the June meeting unfortunately got stung by the anem pretty badly, we are watching...

    Our 57g rimless

Ok, so the livestock has been in the tank for a week. The good news: the clowns, the mandarines, the cleaner goby, and the blennies have settled right in. The wrasse is skittish, but looks fine and so far has left the cleaner shrimp who snuck in alone. The helfrichi and the assessor seem to be...

    Picasso Clown

It is possible that it will take more than a day or two in a specimen container. One way to limit the damaged cause by an aggressive female clown (your aggressive "he" is likely a "she") is by placing a barrier with a small hole in it in your tank, giving the smaller fish a "safe" space to...
