AVOID. DO NOT GO IN THERE. When I was in high school, that store sold me (after assuring me I could keep them with no problem) a butterfly, a maroon clown, and a puffer FOR A 10 G. Now, Now, I've been back since, but I can't say it has gotten better. The last time I was there (about a month...
Re: When all is going well with our tanks, why can't we just leave well enough a
I appreciate the advice Phil, thank you. I have to admit though, I'm too scared to try to starve the mandarins. I love them. They are my favorite fish by far. The female is nice and tubby, but the male looks thin...
Hey All,
Mike (mnat) and I have a pair of false percs that I am looking to give away. They have been together for about 14 months, origionally purchased from Trop for $29 each, looking for a good home for these guys.
They are very healthy, were in a 10G in a school for the past 4 months. Mike...
I know you said you'd just stick with the plain algae, but I was wondering if you have thought about trying to mash the garlic with a morter & pestel and then spread a very thin layer on the nori? Or try pressing the garlic, and separating the pressed garlic from the oil? Just a thought.
Wow, Oliver, you put the DIY that Mike & I did to keep our wrasse and blue spot from carpet surfing to shame. What did you use to attach the screening to the acrylic? And I second the question on where you got the hinges from . . .
You can also try using a plastic container. Carefully brush the container against the anem's tenticals, herding the clown towards the glass while you waive your fingers in front of it. Goal: get clown to swim away from your hand, into clear container. I've seen the guys at my LFS do this.
+1. Also avoid your cleaner shrimp. . . i've learned from experiance that if I have cuts on my hands and reach into my tank, my cleaner shrimp will literally chase me around the tank trying to clean the cut.
And don't worry, the money you save on blue leg hermits will more than balance out the amount you have to spend on counseling for him for the next 11 years until his 18th birthday. . . not.
You need to replace "Security" with "Fed Ex". Not that I'm advocating that sort of thing, of course, given that it would be a violation of Florida law.
You could try some live food. Baby brine gets just about everyone in my tanks to come out, with the exception of Mike's flaming prawn goby.
Even our angel and jawfish come out for it, although they can't quite figure out what all the fuss is about ;)
As to why your pistol is trying to block...
