Unfortunately, we lost one of the fire shrimp last night :( He had gotten banged up over the weekend, his antenae clipped short by someone in our tank and his tail a bit beat up as well. I did not think his injuries were life threatening, and I moved him to the fuge to heal, but to no avail...

Mike and I use heaters in our Nanos. We find that our little tanks are very sensitive to changes in temp. We have a halide on the 30g. The heater turns off when the halide starts running, and turns back on after the halide turns off. Without a heater on, we have swings in temp in this tank...

When we had the tank crash in February, we ended up with all four our our clowns (two picasos, two black & whites) swimming together for about a week and our guys definitely seemed to miss each other when we spit them back up again. Hope all continues to go well with your group!

I am Mike (MNAT's) wife, and I can attest that he definitely behaves like a collage student from time to time . . . looove you. I kept my tank during law school, i think that is pretty similar to keeping in college, send me a pm if you want to chat on low-cost saltwater keeping.
