Its gonna happen because of the change in spectrum being produced by your lights, you now have a lot more of the warmer spectrum with the added reds and amber I believe as well as the par monster in the UV leds, I'd say to stagger your channels so that blues are higher by say 10-15% at thos...
Looks great Kyle, digging the open rockwork, I can see this filled with giant sps colonies reaching towards the oppoaing islands. Nice work on the move
Oh come on bry, we all know leds haven't been proven to be successful at keeping sps color and growth. Nothing will ever top the almighty halide, nor come close. /sarcasm
Yeah that's what made me think it was that. They are definitely not a fun creature lol. Friend had a 3 foot one in his 120, lost colonies of corals and some large fish to it before we got him out, easilly an inch and a half in diameter and past my arm's length. Nightmares ensued after that...
All of these corals are very nice. I believe i picked up an aqua delight from matt when i was there, and i think it might be my favorite coral in the tank!
Nems put off a lot of waste, I would say you CAN do it but like mnat said, constant water changes and monitoring would be completely necessary. What is the time frame on housing it like this? It will need light also, And especially a heater.
Rock work is definitely unique, can't wait to see this come together. One piece of advice would be to put the led bar on the front shining into the tank rather than the back you want the Leds to shine onto your corals to get any affect with that many t5s
Yeah I'm shading mine currently, they seem to be doing well though. Both have grown a decent ammount since acquiring them, so they must like the light. Like you said just keep an eye on em and they should be fine
