Can’t wait to see what the green encrustment turns into. Finally starting to shoot up after a year.

Hope everyone’s having a good month. Here are a few top downs . Sps seem to be a bit happier and safer with the addition of nitrate dosing. My Walt Disney’s took giant hits with no nitrates. A icp test also showed that I had lower iodine levels which could have also been the reason why my disneys lost a lot of their pinks.

It’s a never ending process. You test often and things that aren’t as close to natural salt levels, try to get them back to normal. One by one.

This one has started to respond very well to the nitrates in the water and the extra stability with the newer dosing pump.

I have been manually adjusting iodine to get back up to normal levels, but I had hooked up neonitro to the doser and I think my nitrates are sitting at 15. It was sitting at 0 and phosphates were at .08. It was a very hostile environment without the nutrients in the water. Also some sps that have stayed stagnant have started growing and really growing at a good rate. The photo of the coral is the poto red Diablo.

I haven’t checked lol, last time I did it was a week and a half since a water change so it went from .08 to .11…. I don’t trust the hannah phosphate checker I have completely. My friends more expensive one say my number was actually .05 or in that area which matched the icp test. So the number I get from my phosphate kit is slightly higher then what it probably is. Just got to keep phosphates away from 0.0 and from getting too high. I have also been feeding more so that is probably adding more phosphate.

I used Hanna as well, it’s good to see a complete number and not guess with colors.
What brand is the one that you are using for dosing nitrates?

I dose with brightwells neonitro. I don’t use much so the cost isn’t bad but for a bigger tank it’s easier to make your own. I test with Red Sea pro, I am going to wait for more reviews of the brand no Hannah hr checker before I buy that.
