Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Tested a few things today to see where the checkers are adding up. I am a firm believer that every tank is different, and if properly maintained, and you have a reliable cleanup crew you can get by with having crazy high nitrates and no display nuisance algea….
I have it hooked up to a doser and I just let it dose. I have not been too invested in my tank anymore and nearly pay attention to it. Whatever happens, happens.
I also had a few elements like iodine and molybdenum that were low on both of my old icp tests. I am not near the tank enough and don’t send out enough icp tests to be able to dose and keep these in line. With a small tank volume and overgrown sps, these minor elements get depleted very quickly and they may play a factor in color and overall health. But since I don’t send out icp tests often, it is not safe to go dosing these elements to try to make colors better. If not controlled and stalled when numbers are level then a crash can be iminant.
Would like to upload a video from my phone during full spectrum lighting but not sure how on this site, and certainly don’t feel like putting it on YouTube.
Well guys it was a fun ride with the biocube. The tank did not crash but the corals are just getting way too big. The biocube is at my dads house and I now live elsewhere. So I will be taking down the biocube.
The 29 will be taken down but the passion continues!! As mike pointed out, there’s a project in the works. I finally got to fully setting up my pride and joy that’s been slowly coming together. The 29 biocube will make its way over to the next town and transferred into my new waterbox 130.4 !!
