So if we go for the icp test my number it’s really 0.07 now wish it’s a good number and not 0.10.
Does anyone else this vitiation on the Hanna url phosphate and the icp test?

I haven’t checked lol, last time I did it was a week and a half since a water change so it went from .08 to .11…. I don’t trust the hannah phosphate checker I have completely. My friends more expensive one say my number was actually .05 or in that area which matched the icp test. So the number I get from my phosphate kit is slightly higher then what it probably is. Just got to keep phosphates away from 0.0 and from getting too high. I have also been feeding more so that is probably adding more phosphate.

I'm a little late to the party here, but I just wanted to congratulate you on keeping such a beautiful tank. Your corals look amazing.

It’s funny but his talk it’s not big so you would think it’s definitely more difficult to keep everything stable and growing in colony’s just how Jhon it’s doing it. Very impressive and also it a mixed reef with lps and sps.

Everyone’s Hanna low range kit has a uncertainty +\- that it should be in that range if properly calibrated and working properly. So theoretically say mine was just at the way off spectrum and read.09 but was actuallly .06, does not mean that your Hanna would be exactly the same . It could be off .03 in the other direction. We put a lot of trust in our test kits when trying to get the exact number when really you should just try to stay in a range. You may also put 1 drop more in the vial from test to test or some reagent gets stuck in the bottom or spills. There’s always a +/- that it can be off by. Nothing is perfect.

Next time I get into the fish store I’ll bring some water to be tasted and see what number I get from them just to have another precise number

Thanks Eric, I had to do alittle fine tuning to the dosing unit since my alk dropped by .3 . It had been flawless on 8.5 for so long and everything’s growing so well I can’t afford to not test it every day and risk an alk drop. For once the vivids rainbow is getting color which has always been my kryptonite.

To be honest , I am kinda a cheapo and never rented a par meter. I just have a radion xr15 g4 at 70 percent and keep things as close to the water level as possible. Corals are very resilient and can withstand a lot of par so I am never afraid of giving them too much. And this one is the Asd rainbow millie.
