Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
with group buys typically the vendor delivers to ONE place - in this case I believe it is flemington, nj.
Some folks who are able to - will go there to get their orders.
For this specific group buy, the manager has volunteered his time to help drive the orders to four destinations in NJ. You should read the instructions thread as I believe he mentioned this.
Once the group buy ordering period is closed (on the 13th) they will calculate the tab with the vendor and then post up a link that has every person's order and cost (paypal factored in). So keep in mind if a snail is $1.00 - you'll be paying $1.00 plus whatever the paypal fee will be.
It's still early right now - waiting for more people to decide whether to join the group buy.
btw - nassarius snails do not eat algae - you know that right?
Was moving my lights off the tank and they fell in the water! Everything is fine though, thank god.
Was siphoning out the water and was just about done and I toke the siphon head out of the tank and then went to take the hose out and water went all over the rug.
So that was back2back messes I had to clean up, big pain! Anyways, water change is done for another week...
I can relate, Ryan. I just finished my water change, too. Even though my lights didn't fall in (YIKES), I almost needed swimmies by the time I was done because my floor was soaked from the garage all the way to the family room. :-X
Shes such a sweetie! Candi check your email when you get a chance, and let me know! I'll put photos up as soon as everything opens up. I put the one you told me not to put on a rock on an isolated rock on top, it wasn't getting enough light in the sand so I figured I'd try it. Everything should hopefully open tomorrow!
The hammer & frogspawn should be open tomorrow, the gsp might take take a couple days since I tore it off the piece in my tank and the palys might also take some time to perk up since I scraped them off the overflow...FYI they like light, a ton of light so put them at the top. Oh and the gsp can handle low light but as long as it's on a separate rock that's fine too, you just don't want it taking over your tank.
yea, put the GSP down in the sand away from all your other rocks. it wont grow as fast as it will close to the light but it will still grow and not all over your rocks where you cant get it off
im tellin ya buddy once that GSP grows onto rock it is NOT coming off, your best bet is to isolate it in the sand. other then that its starting to look good ;D
It doesn't get enough light in the sand it seems, it really opens up when its up top instead of on the sand. Plus I clean the algae off the bottom of the glass so I'd be hitting it constantly.
Looking good! Where is the little hammer? I didn't see it, it's a very young/new head so it'll take some time to grow but you should still see it opening up with the purple & green fleshy parts... if its not opening where you have it try a different place. Its not super easy to tell from the pictures but if you can lean the rock the GSP is on up to the rear glass that might help isolate it more and you might even get it growing on your rear glass.. honestly though you want to be super careful with it Ryan, it will grow quickly and will easily spread from one rock to another. Don't worry about it with light, I've kept it just fine with normal output (ie freshwater type) bulbs before and mine is always getting booted around on the bottom, its pretty hardy stuff.
I see it now! It's a little guy, it's hard to tell from the photo but it appears to be open so no worries. It'll grow and will then either branch itself from one head into two and/or also start growing tiny new heads off the base. Got your email and will reply later tonight or tomorrow
To put the GSP by itself is a very good idea..I have to admitt I am scraping growths off when ever I find them on my main "islands" I have put mine all on one area by itself. Dandylion of corals.
Thanks James, I actually toke the idea from Candi and leaned one of my long slim rocks up against the glass so now its totally isolated I actually moved some things around so its a tad different now, but I think it looks better now actually lol. I'll be investing in my RO unit next month, I want to wait for my credit card to clear up haha.
