Your shrimp comment implies that you recently enjoyed a plate of these delectable little crustacea. If this is true, did you mention this to your doctor? A number of people are allergic to shrimp (and other crustacea), and a fat lip could be one of the symptoms. Maybe you should be on benadryl!

EDIT TO ADD

Read THIS where it states: “Or, the skin could swell--typically the lips and hands--though the tongue and throat could also swell; a condition called Angioedema.”

Have you been working in the tank recently? Have any Palys/Zoa's? Could it be a palytoxin? I read a few stories of reefers who wanted to get rid of the Paly's on the LR in their tank and one tried to boil them off and another tried to burn them off. The one who tried the boiling method inhaled the steam and got extremely sick as did the one who tried to burn them off and inhaled some of the smoke. So, I guess if you had some on your hand and wiped your mouth, maybe it could have transferred.

Lol Paul I want 75% of the licensing fees, and no it isn't a food allergy since that is what everyone initially said to me so I took benadryl without help. The only food I had was pizza that I normally eat and never had a reaction to.

Jim while that is a possibility of working on the tank and touching mouth I am severely OCD when it comes to that stuff. On Wednesday I did pick up the 75g tank from John and touched some rocks to put in a bucket, but did not touch my mouth after that at all. In fact as soon as we left John's with the tank in the car, I asked steve to stop at krazer's so I could get purell and I also scrubbed my hands like a rape victim before we left John's.

All I know is antibiotics the size of my thumb and vicodin = a nice mix.

Lots of scraping left to do, at least i got all the sand out and teh thing rinsed.

I LOVE these overflows they're so small and take up such little footprint, also love Olivier's frankenstein sump w/ fuge built off the side. I may replace it and do a standard 30L to save some real estate since my skimmer is smaller, but have to measure first.

Well getting there and making progress Tang police

looking good! You're right, there's a lot of scraping to be done still. If it were me I would go buy a couple gallons of vinegar, put that thing outside, plug up the overflows and let it soak a day or 2. You'll be at it for a month with a spray bottle.....

Winter = the glass would prob crack, I'm going to put it downstairs and run it with vinegar full like you said. Just need someone to help me carry it since I don't feel like picking it up again by myself.

Either way, it's much less work! We used muriatic acid on CJ's 120 when he first got it and it was a snap. Maybe your dog can help you carry it?

Haha I'll probably just pony up and carry it down this weekend once my infection is gone and I'm off the pain meds. It isn't that heavy after all.

Once you go Glass-Holes, you'll never go back. You'll actually end up scratching your head wondering why others use those behemoth overflows. Glass-Holes are THE BEST! Welcome to the exclusive club....remind me to show you the secret hand-shake.

Looking good Brandon. Time to pick up a couple gallons of vinegar and clean that puppy up.

We all aren't what we used to be!! I remember working in the LFS and stacking tanks in the basement by myself. I'd probably throw my back out doing that now....

Just placed the final order for the glass-holes return kit

1 - 1/2 bulkhead thread x thread ( since I already have an assembly from John's return)

You picked 1/2" bulkheads? I would have gone with at least 3/4" for a 75g. Is it too late to change the order?
