You so smart oh my rod!

Paulina you come plumb tank we make bakery together MARMARMARM. Now I need to build a stand to elevate the 10g tank I got to act as my fuge. Going to use a 20G long as my sump to fit skimmer and return :X

Brandon, refresh my little pea brain….do you have the 700 Glass-Holes (single drain) or the 1500 GH (two drains)?

If it’s single, the order is fuge, skimmer, return. If it’s double, I have it set up with one drain in the fuge (right side), the other drain in the skimmer (left side) and the return section in the middle:

And if this
Paulina you come plumb tank we make bakery together
is a proposal, I could be talked into switching teams, but I’ll be the man and you……be yourself!

Paul there are 2 single 700gph kits. The fuge is separate from the main sump. The fuge will.be a 10g tank that will.be.drilled and then overflow in to.the 20L sump.

The 20L will go skimmer then return.

There is a glass shop right next to Sed Sand in Dunellen. That is where I got the glass for both of my sumps. I brought the tank there, they cut the glass and fit it to the width of the tank. I just told them how many and how tall I wanted the glass for each section.

So I decided to reuse my stand from my old 180g tank so in essence I'm placing a 48 x 18 tank on a 72 x 24 stand :).

Good news is too I can reuse my 75g sump and thus I win! I was hoping to plumb it this weekend and pick-up salt from TB, but I'm called away for a family emergency :/.

Hoping next weekend or sometime during the week to get it done.

Glad to hear it, I was going to say, the 20L on my 65 is just at about the max limit. Add 10 more gallons and you might run into drain down issues (flood) with the 20L. For the 75 a 29G (
30 x 12 x 18
) or 30G (
36 x 12 x 16)
sump would be a better choice.

If I do a frag tank I am thinking of a 24 x 24 reef ready like the deep blue, but I need the overflow in the right corner.

I came home today from the hospital after the family emergency and tried to plumb the tank. Idk if it was the fact I was exhausted, but I think I need to re-think the plumbing. That or I am in over my head. Blah

For future reference when buying a hole saw make sure you take into account the exterior diameter of the pipe not the interior diameter :X

Once the plumbing is done, tomorrow I'll post pics.

I need a few T-s and a hose to go from return to barb and I'm A-OKAY.

Surprisingly it went relatively smoothly except the wrong hole saw and misplacing some fitting. It also came to my attention that I should probably aquascape and do my sand before the water  But never fear for I have a plan, I'll drain the display into my brute cans and into the sump then ta-da I can have a dry tank, but the water ready on hand.

A piece of acrylic or eggcrate on the bottom doesn't hurt either. It helps protect the bottom glass.
