Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

Already second guessing myself here...

Deb went into the laundry/fish room to find a flood...yippe!

Not sure what the heck happened, but I THINK my 55 fuge might have overflowed...but the strange thing is that it was draining properly when I looked at it...so i'm hoping that it's not cracked and leaking somewhere...I guess i'll know soon enough. ugh

I did however find a bangaii in my sump!

Did you find an extra Bangaii or one of the ones from your tank? ;D Sorry to hear about the flood. I hate a mystery.

Ahhh long gone are the days when you were the proud leader of the flood club, huh?

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

Not sure yet. Once the tank is here (which I think is this week) I can see what everyone's availability is.

The Saga continues though...My return pump (Sequence Reeflo Dart) is making some horrible noises...It starts squeaking and rattling then the noise just stops...then a few minutes later it starts again (the noise, not the pump)...The unfortunate part is that In my haste to setup the pump originally, I put a single union ball valve on it, instead of using a dual like I did everywhere else...and put it on backwards, so taking it off is a huge project that I just don't feel like getting into at 8:30 at night. So I may be needing a new pump, I don't know...and if you're familiar with the dart it has a 2" intake...and my whole manifold and bulkheads are setup for that...so it's not like I can run out and grab any old return pump.

Why am I bothering redoing this tank?!!?! I may just pick it up and resell it!

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

IME The Sequence Dart will run for months making a noise like that. You might not be able to stand it thoyugh. Mine was in the garage!

When our sequence went, I called their customer service and explained the noise and they said not to worry, it could run like that for a while. You should give them a call. The pump is probably out of warranty but they have GREAT customer service and may be able to do something for you. I think the main company is MDM Baldor or something like that. I can get you the info if you need it.

That makes me feel a bit better Jim! I just really want it to hold out till the redo.

Ya know John...I've dealt with their customer service before and was pretty amazed at how helpful they were...why I didn't think of contacting them is beyond me!

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

Well, I contacted customer service...didn't hear back from them though...kind of odd. But on the plus side, the pump has been silent since the e-mail went out...maybe it got scared or something!

The tank SHOULD be at AO on Monday...Soooo if anyone is around that can help me put it in my garage till i'm ready for the move that would be wonderful! I don't think it would take more than 2 or 3 of us? If I remember a 180 can be carried by 2 people...and it just has to go from the store, to the car and then to my garage. (for the time being!)

if in weekdays - i think AO may be able to help you to load it onto your car/truck.
i can stop by later at night (around 8pm) to help you move into your house.
let me know when.
thx

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

If you live near David then I likely can help on Monday too....I take the train from Woodbridge and then go over to Dunnellen.

Well, it would definitely be evening since I'll actually be working. Thanks for the offers, I'll keep everyone posted.

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

Brian,
Back to the pump for a minute.
If it was making that noise, I think you should still order a seal kit from them and do the replacement.

Yeah, I know the problem is bound to come back...and I really need to take it apart for cleaning. I was hoping they would have gotten back to me already...I'm going to send them another e-mail this weekend and see what happens.

Re: Brian's 225g Monstrosity!

Well, I guess I spoke too soon! My pump died a few minutes ago...sitting here and I hear the water back siphoning out of the tank...my first thought was that my sump drained and there would be water everywhere...I was relieved when I walked into the sump room and saw no water...but then realized what the problem was... expletive expletive expletive!!!!

Bad luck on timing. I had my pump go on me once around the same time of night. Helpless knowing you cant even run out and get a replacement at this hour. Good luck
