Not sure if you've got them or you'd like to get them. In either case, yellow is no problem. I'd imagine that the Yellow with one of the others would be fine, maybe two if smaller. The Naso, Achilles & White check are pretty active fish. There should be a good deal of room for swimming to make them happy. Just my opinion.

Unlike many on line vendor's, F&S is pretty honest about the MINIMUM tank size for the fish they sell. This is not based on opinion, but many years of experience. These fish, when small, may seem to get along, but as they grow, they'll become more territorial, and the more territorial they become the more aggressive they become toward each other. Not just with them, but will stress the tank as a whole.

Well I plan on opening up the tank a bit more as far as the scape goes. That'll help a little bit, and I'm not certain on all 4 tangs. I have the yellow already so that's obvious, but I definitely want an Achilles. The blonde I love but we'll see and the white cheek was just an idea.

And as far as aggression goes, my PBT and yellow got along just fine and they were in a 90g for almost a year. I feel like aggression varies greatly with these fish. But that's just my honest opinion. Thanks for everyone's honest answers and I will take then into consideration :)

I think you should be able to have 3 of them. Yellow, naso, and one of the two others. I think the biggest problem (literally will be the Achilles). Too similar genetically and shape wise to whitecheek.
Also they are two of the less hardy tangs. Hippo tang is also different from yellow/naso so would be a good choice.

I've considered a hippo as well. And yes I kinda figure the body shape of the achilles and white cheek would come into play. Still so many decisions to make!! Lol

How so? More room, happier fish. I can make my scape so that it has caves, but I'm just saying I can minimize the rock to also make it more open.

unfortunately, i live about 57 seconds away from ecambero. in his 180 he has- purple tang, achilles tang, regal angel, blonde naso, hippo tang. it's so sad that i know his livestock. anyway, just recently we reaquacaped. prior to that, the naso was on a rampage, then the purple kept him in check, and finally the purple went homicidal on the poor regal. it was so bad that we had to catch the purple and/or the regal. after we caught the purple, i am pretty sure the achilles and naso went at it. we(me, edwin, and another helper who prefers to remain nameless) closed up the rock work, added more rock(maybe 100lbs if not more) created over 15 caves, but left some open area in the front. the fish all get along now.

Lol but that's also 4 tangs and an angel. I would only have 3 probably. I know what you're saying though. I guess I'll see what I can do as far as a scape. Maybe I'll still use the same amount but find a way to make it more open I don't know. I still have planning to do anyways so no rush lol

Dan's New 150RR

Yellow tang, Achilles tang, blonde naso tang and a whitecheek tang

4 tangs? Angel is docile. Tangs went after the docile fish. Angel wasn't even trying to fight off the purple. Just level rock out, Pile it up, stair case it, and be sure to stick a powerhead behind the rock.

Oh well it was just an idea, nothings set in stone yet, I agree with not having an Achilles and whitecheek in the same tank considering they're identical other than color

I'll say this. Find a lfs you like and buy your livestock there. Make a deal that in 3 or 4 years when your fish get too big you trade it in for a new one. I've been doing this for years.

No tank in anyone's possession is ever big enough for any tang. None of us can compete with the ocean. What you can do is house a decent number of juvenile fish in peace for a long time.

I acclimate my fish the same way every time. They are in a quarantine tank for a few weeks until they stop flaring. Them that are addressed together at night and at the same time lights out for a day

Naso's get pretty big, maybe a smaller Bristletooth? You'll already have 3 large fish with the pair of Bluethroats and the Achilles. Just a thought.
