Dan's 150 Rebuild

Stn or rtn are usually caused by alk and Cal imbalance. It also could be a bacterial infection that sometimes just happens. The best move is to do what empire said and cut it well above the peeling

Okay well it was peeling at the base and towards the middle of it so I had to cut it up. I have 2 big frags now. One on each end of the tank to see which does better. I really hope I don't lose this :/

The dragons are finicky but good luck hopefully they are fine

Before I left for work this morning, I peered into my tank to look at the red dragon frags with the lights out, and it looks like 1 of the 2(maybe both, not sure) have gone completely white.... This is why I hate SPS sometimes. Makes no sense to me

i honestly feel like you added sps way too early. granted you moved everything from your 125, but even then you should have waited longer. i am sure there was significant die off when you removed the rock & sand and added it back in. the red dragon is a very sensitive piece.

Oh there's no doubt I added too quickly and it was stupid on my part. I just saw a great piece at a great price and jumped on it. Live and learn. Guess I should get my doser/calcium reactor up and running before adding anything else.

Lol I hear ya. Alright that makes sense. I guess I really do need to stabilize my tank out first. Guess I'll just focus on equipment and fish for now, thanks man

Does a calcium reactor require CO2? Or can it just be ran off a manifold?? I'm looking at the Korallin c1502 and it keeps mentioning a CO2 system

Sorry bud. The media you are putting into reactor is essentially dead coral (aragonite, i believe). So as the CO2 breaks it down., it releases the perfect balanced dose needed by living coral

Disclaimer: This is the way i understand it.

Yes it aids in breaking down the media.
