Dan's 150 Rebuild

I have a doser BUT am very leery about hooking it up again bc it failed me in the past somehow and I lost a ton of SPS colonies in the process.

Lol its not even old, but who knows what I'll do. Time will tell. Have a question about my test results tho.

The other day my phos was at 0ppm. Today its at 0.09ppm. I only have biopellets running and no gfo. Should I turn my GFO back on? Or will the pellets eventually knock down the phosphates?

What are your nitrates? If your nitrates are 0 then it's likely the Biopellets won't lower the po4 anymore then it has.

Nitrates r 5ppm. Its weird tho bc 2 days ago my phosphates were at 0ppm and today they're at 0.09ppm and I haven't done anything to change that. The bio pellets have only been going for about 3 weeks now

Does a calcium reactor require CO2? Or can it just be ran off a manifold?? I'm looking at the Korallin c1502 and it keeps mentioning a CO2 system

In addition to the reactor you'll need a co2 bottle and a regulator. Milwaukee and Reef Fanatic sell regulators in the 100 to 150 range. Don't bother getting a shiny new aluminum co2 bottle. Just get a used one. More than likely the place that you get your co2 from will just swap out the bottle anyway for a full one. Do you already have a controller?

No I don't have a controller Mike. I think I'm gonna put the calc reactor on the back burner for now. I'm gonna have to save up and put aside some money for those lol

Just keep your eye out for a used one. They pop up from time to time. Your probably a ways off from really needing one anyway.

yeah thats what i keep getting told anyways. lol no biggie anyways. like Empire said, i have my doser for the time being if i do wind up needing it.

Dan,

How you liking your return? did you put anything under the pump at all?

On mine I notice it making a whining sound almost like a computer fan, wondering if thats standard procedure.

Hey, I love it. I put a dampener pad underneath of it and its virtually silent. Money well spent.

Well, lost another fish. My female occy clown that I've had for almost 3 yrs now, she was stuck on a powerhead :( no idea why I'm losing fish all of a sudden. All of my numbers r in check. Nothing suspicious in the tank, no bites, markings, etc.
