Dan's 150 Rebuild

Water travels the path of least resistance which is why you're having that issue. If you want them to be exact you'll have to redo your plumbing

iPhone typo

I didn't want to answer for Brando but I was saying that is flow from the pump. But after looking again I don't think it is.

Wait I'm confused by that Lol, is that yellowish tubing on the right you're intake?

Silly Sobo Silly

So the white tube you see coming straight up to the T is connected to my pump sitting in my sump.

The dirty brown tubing <not yellow, dont be ignant> is the return to my 2 returns for my display.

To the left of the T is a ball valve which is the main control valve for my manifold.

Although on my display my 2 returns are right next to each other since it is a peninsula.

Actually no. No real difference. The return line splits but has an equal distance to travel to the outlet.

While I can't see yours I willing to bet the the distance from pump to outlet on the stronger flow side is less then the distance to the weaker flow side. The is probably some extra head loss to that side. Try to put one line from the manifold to the return line then split that line so that the water has and equal distance to travel from that point.

So then it's not longer.

Not longer but because it goes through the manifold he is having way more head loss so really same effect or worse.

So then splice it at the middle and make it the same distance off of it

You could do this. You ultimately want the water to trace the same distance with the same loss. Or you need to use valves to achieve what you are looking for.

I will add though that even though the returns are putting different flow into the tank the drains are still operating the same. They won't chance because of that. So if you PH's are giving you enough in-tank flow them really your good to go.

Yeah I mean I guess my powerheads are, I just hate that the water surface on that side is virtually still and the other side has a ripple. I mean I guess I could point a powerhead up towards the surface but then that'll take away from how I have em in the tank.

If I can make the space for it. I may redo my manifold. Make it so that the return pump comes up to the middle of the manifold and disperses left and right equally while also have 2 ports on each side for my reactors and anything in the future. Does this sound like it could work?

Sounds like it will work splendid.

What I did was I drew everything out on paper and figured out all the sizing. I then wrote down each piece I needed and went to lowes, I spent an hour at lowes checking each item off my list. I got home and had everything I needed to get my manifold going.

If you need help with plumbing lmk. I can't guarantee our schedules will match lol but I'll try

That's exactly what I plan on doing! I hate having to go to Lowes or home depot 3-4 times in the same day lol

I HATE Home Depot!

I LOVE Lowes!

I was happy it only took one trip to Lowes to get the manifold built, I was at home depot today and finished off my drain for my water changes because I needed a 90 pvc to threaded, but it worked.

Now I am lucky because home depot is a 3 minute drive from me, but I still love Lowes.

The only thing left for me to do is figure out how to mount my BRS reactors, then I am done!

Good for you! I was gonna start planning out my manifold today while I was at work but we were super busy so I didn't get a chance to.

Just picked this pretty sweet Easter Egg Chalice today :) acclimating now. Was tempted to buy SPS but decided against it as I wanna let my tank mature more
