Dan's 150 Rebuild

Well I'll proceed on my own then :)

Drained the sump and removed it. Removed equipment. Sanded down the stand with a dremel so my pipes aren't cocked while they're sitting in there and installed new bulkheads. 1 side down. 1 more to go.

It is possibly it's my old eyes or tiny netbook, but am I seeing a gasket between the bulkhead nut and the tank?

If that is the case, regardless of how the bulkhead is installed, the gasket always....always....goes on the flange side......never on the nut side.

What do u guys think? Centered or off centered? I need room for my apex board so that's why I'm condisering off centered.

Any input? Also does anyone know if the apex eb8 bars can be used as regular outlets without programming? I wanna set that in my stand but don't want to if they won't work until I program

I like it off centered. Gives you more space to the side. As far as the apex I'm not sure

What's everyone think of this for the drains? I can disconnect it in the middle in order to change out the filter sock(its really tight under here)

Not sure why they keep coming out sideways but here's a pic with the hose on the end

Changes I would make.

1. Off Center for sure. Otherwise you are wasting space.

2. If you are dead SET on mounting you electronics at the bottom of the sump...

Get a piece of 1/2 to 3/4" Plywood cut to fit snugly under your Sump area. Screw a brace into the top of the sump and one to the bottom of the sump where you can velcro the Piece of plywood to it.. or Screw the plywood to it. This will seperate your electronics (FACING AWAY FROM The sump) and save them from excessive moisture or salt spray. Outside Wall|Electrical |Wall| Sump|| Outside Wall

Definately don't mount your EB8's. Or Controlled outlets under the stand. Unless its in a area specifically designed for it. It WILL FAIL eventually.

Well that's not gonna work. I definitely HAVE to mount everything underneath. No space otherwise. The sump is already on a piece of plywood that was made into the stand so I'm good there.

And I can't make a wall bc of where the plumbing will be coming from the left side of the tank.

Your probably going to need to program it first but you could set them all to be on constantly without too much difficulty while you decide how you want to program it.

That's what I was reading into. Just gotta hook it up and figure out how to do that exactly lol

Having a problem with the Apex now. I'm online. Hooked directly up to my router by Ethernet cable to both the apex and my laptop. It says I have to download the latest firmware but when I go to click on the flash zip file, it brings me to a page and says "uh oh! Something went wrong error 404"... What the heck do I do now?

Got it updated. Wow this day has been the busiest day of my life. Got my sump in, plumbed it, set up my apex(didn't program yet) now I just gotta make more water and run the tank and hope for the best!
