Dan's 90G Reef

Dan that cat would make me very nervous up there.. Tank new scape looks good
I also use BRS two part very easy and price is not to bad. I use brs dosers they seem to work just fine.
Kevin that purple bonsai looks great I think you need to frag a piece for me and bring it the next time you go visit you parents lol.

Lol yeah the cat makes my girlfriend nervous too, she thinks she's gonna fall in even tho there's a screen in there. And thanks for the compliment. 2 part is a godsend right now. Makes life so much easier :)

So even after disturbing the hell outta my sandbed from rescaping and replenishing 15g of fresh saltwater, my nitrates were still under 5. Unbelievable, I haven't tested for nitrates in forever it seems
Calc 480(lil high bc of water change)
Alk 9.3
Mag 1400
Salinity 1.025
I'm a happy camper :)

Spoke too soon. Still fidgeting with this doser. Can't quite seem to get the dosing interval times right. One day my Alk was too high(10.3) the next 2 days I had it around 9.1-9.3(trying to get it to 9) and then today I tested and it was at 8.4.

I added 3 seconds onto each interval to bump up my alk we'll see where I'm at tomorrow night.

Will also have a nice Zoa pack to show everyone :)

Just got a nice pack of zoas today.

SC Untouchable

So when I get my light in later this week (hopefully) what percentage should I start them off at? I don't wanna torch my corals by accident lol

If its goona be the same height as before id do 20 percent less on white channel and 10 percent left on blue. Really shouldnt need to be acclimated at all since they are pretty equal in power its just a different spectrum but just in case

I might do a little bit closer. Not sure. And here I am, asking questions about what percentage to keep em at and I don't even know how this thing works yet haha

So I'm still waiting for my light from reef breeders... So impatient.. But on a lighter note. I picked up a plate coral :) nifty little guy. He has a purple rim, green body and a purple mouth with long tentacles. Any advice on keeping plates other than keep em in the sand and occasionally spot feeding??

Here it is during acclimation

Good looking plate. Yea make sure you spot feed, an make sure it doesn't get buried. I lost one from a goby always burying it.

Thanks! Yeah I put him on the opposite end of the tank from my yellowhead jawfish that loves to make burrows Lol what would u feed em? Anything specific?

Mine loved krill, I would feed a chunk of frozen omega one krill about once a week. You can also feed a small piece of a cocktail shrimp, that way is much cheaper.

I used the krill flat pack so I would just break a dime sized piece. if using frozen shrimp from the grocery store use a sharp knife and cut a sliver off.
